The University of South-eastern Philippines (USeP), Davao City hosted the Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Year 1 Program Review on February 6-7, 2023. The RAISE Program in Eastern Visayas Project Leaders attending included Engr. Raven Tabiongan, Dr. Moises Neil Seriño, Prof. Marlon Tambis, Dr. Maria Juliet C. Ceniza and Ms. Elmera Y. Bañoc.
Dr. Lourdes C. Generalao, USeP President, graced the event and warmly welcomed the delegates from DOST-PCAARRD, programs, and project leaders from seven consortia/regions under RAISE Program, namely; CoRCAARRD, ILAARRDEC, BCAARRD, STAARRDEC, WESVAARRDEC, VICARP and SMAARRDEC, including the other project and support staff and assistants who are joining virtually via Zoom.
Dr. Ceniza, the Program Leader, successfully presented to the participants the highlights of accomplishments for year 1 implementation of the four (4) projects, namely; Intellectual Property and Technology Management (IPTM), Agri-Business Hub (ABH), Agri-Aqua Business Incubation (ATBI) and Knowledge Management (KM). In addition, each project leader has the chance to present their detailed accomplishments, lessons learned and best practices gained while implementing the project.
The main purpose of this review is to showcase to the funding agency, DOST-PCAARRD the notable achievements of the program and discuss how to resolve the problems that were met from the previous year, and especially identify plans for moving forward and how the experiences could enhance implementation of similar future undertakings.
From PCAARRD, Dr. Juanito T. Batalon, OIC, OED-RD, PCAARRD, delivered an opening message. He emphasized that the P and C in the acronym of PCAARRD also stand for Partnership and Collaboration. This RAISE Program has proven enough that we embrace these undertakings in our respective regions including us. Dir. Noel A. Catibog, Director of TTPD-PCAARRD, gave the rationale for the Annual Review, and Ms. Abigail Gueco and Ms. Cherry B. Bundalian, TTPD staff, served as the documenters.
The discussions on RAISE RTMS, RAISE Advisory Council, RAISE Regional Activities and Sustainability Planning, and Facility Markers for new IP TBM mentees are also presented in today's Annual Review.
