The Visayas Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Program (ViCARP) conducted the first Annual Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program in Eastern Visayas Year-End Review and Year 2 Planning on January 10, 2023, at the RDE Hall, Visayas State University. This meeting was attended by the project leaders and project staff of all the implementing agencies under the RAISE VIII Program. Also, gracing the meeting virtually was the TTPD team of DOST-PCAARRD with the goal of attaining two broad objectives: 1) to review the progress made in the implementation of each four projects for year 1; and 2) to finalize work plans for year 2.
In addition, the meeting sought to give an overview of the Online Monitoring System or RTMS development content build-up, proposed data fields, and the timeline for the implementation in this year 2023. Thus, the Project 4: Regional Knowledge Management of ViCARP, RAISE Program will lead the RTMS. The Knowledge Resources Inventory Process and Regional Communication Plan of ViCARP were also presented during the meeting as an initial plan and preparation for the conduct of RTMS Development in Region 8. The need for collective efforts and cooperation by all concerned project teams geared towards attaining the objectives of the RAISE Program was also addressed. Year 1 Accomplishments and Year 2 Plans were presented and recommendations were made. A small exhibit display area was shown at the venue to showcase the outputs of each project’s accomplishments.
Projects under RAISE Program in Eastern Visayas are: Project 1: Regional Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management in ViCARP through RAISE of Samar State University (SSU); Project 1A: Establishing the Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IP-TBM) Operations in Biliran Province State University (BiPSU); Project 1B: Establishing the Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IP-TBM) Operations in Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU); Project 1C: Establishing the Agri-Fishery Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IP-TBM) Operations in Southern Leyte State University (SLSU); Project 1D: Establishing the Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IP-TBM) Operations of the University of Eastern Philippines (UEP); Project 1E: Establishing the Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management Operations in Visayas State University (VSU); Project 2: Regional Agribusiness Hub for the Pre-Commercialization of Technologies through the RAISE Program in Region 8 (VSU); Project 3: Regional Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubator of ViCARP (VSU); and Project 4: Regional Knowledge Management of ViCARP (VSU).
The RAISE VIII Program is headed by Dr. Maria Juliet C. Ceniza, the Director for ViCARP and the Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation, at Visayas State University.
